It was with great sadness that we received the news of the death of Robert Storrar RIP. Bob,as he was known, died in the early hours of 24th November, at home in Livingston, surrounded by his loving family.
In Bob, we have lost a long standing member of the Trust who served as a Trustee for a time before health issues intervened and he had to step down from that role. However he never failed to continue to encourage and show unswerving support for the Trust in all its initiatives.
Bob hailed from the Garngad and he considered his origins a badge of honour. Like so many from that rebel stronghold of Glasgow, Bob was a Celtic man, faithful through and through and he followed his beloved Hoops all his life, through the good times and the not so good.
He was a man of high moral principles and of deep faith. A feature of our previous website was the Boot Room to which Bob was a regular contributor with thoughts and opinions. We well remember, that when his little granddaughter Eve was born, very prematurely, and was struggling for her life, Bob used the Boot Room to ask for prayers for her and her Mum. Thankfully little Eve had inherited Bob's fighting spirit and that coupled with, as he always said, the power of prayer, ensured that she survived, and she has gone on to thrive and to bring great joy to him and all the family. He was always so proud of her and willingly shared that pride with others.
Our sincere condolences go to his wife and family at this most difficult of times as they grieve the loss of a loving and special man.
Hail Hail Bob. Rest in peace. We shall miss you and we will try to do as you always told us when you signed off.
We will Keep the Faith.
