How many shares does the Celtic Trust own?

We are often asked how many shares in Celtic plc the Trust owns.  So in order to provide regular updates to our members we have created a new link on the Home Page which gives the precise number of ordinary shares we own. The content will be updated as we go along.  As many of you who follow us on social media know, we recently bought another £10,000 worth of shares and since then we have purchased a smaller parcel from an existing shareholder and are in the process of buying a slightly larger parcel of shares from another existing shareholder who wants us to use them to show our dissatisfaction with the Board.

Of course, while buying shares is an important part of what we do, that will never be enough to make significant change.   To make our voice heard we need to combine the votes of all those shareholders out there who have owned shares since 1994 and who, together, now own around 25-30% of the plc.  Most of those people have never contributed to the potential combined power we could have because they never vote their shares at Celtic plc AGMs.  Of roughly 27000 individual shareholders in Celtic, only about 1200 ever cast their votes.  We need to change this if we are ever to have any say in how our club is run.  So if you own shares and are willing to consider voting with us at Celtic plc AGMs then please register at our Shareholder Registration page and that will allow us to contact you for each AGM.  Each year you can decide whether to proxy your vote to us/vote with us or not. You do not need to be a member of the Trust to register here but, of course, we would be delighted if you chose to join us.

Thanks again for all your support and please play a part by spreading the word.  Unity is Strength!
